The story of Not Under My Roof
The setup
At a family gathering, a mother-in-law cancels her future son-in-law’s bachelor party in front of everyone. It is a public refusal, delivered with a smile, and the groom has no choice but to nod. The family moves on to the next topic.
An hour later, with her daughter asleep upstairs, the mother-in-law offers him a private alternative. It is a gift, she says, and then two of her friends walk in through the back door. The evening is no longer his to control.
What to expect
Five short episodes with a house-party feel. The series is built around reversals: the stern refusal at the start, the soft offer later and the sense that every character in the room knows more than they let on.
It keeps the story compact, mostly confined to a single house over a single night, and the pacing follows the hours of the evening.
A closer look
The turn at the end of the first scene is the most important moment in the series. A public refusal becomes a private offer, and the rest of the story is about the gap between the two. The night structure keeps it tight, and the arrival of two guests through the back door keeps the audience guessing about who is really in control.
The cast
Candy AI credits Antonella Larrea on this series. Every character on screen is AI-generated, like everyone else in Candyshorts. She plays the mother-in-law.
Who it suits
