Partly. The free part is genuine, not advertising talk. With a free account, episodes one and two of every non-Spicy series play in full, which is ample for judging how well it is made, how quickly the story moves and what mood it has before you pay anything. The ending is what you will not get. A padlock sits on every series from episode three, and Spicy series are locked from episode one.

What a free account gets you
To register you give an email address and confirm your age. The platform’s terms count free users as a regular tier, so you never enter a payment method. Once logged in, you have access to:
- Episodes one and two of each series that is not tagged Spicy. Both can be watched in full in the official player, at roughly one to three minutes each, and the lock starts at episode three.
- The feed. This is the vertical scroll of clips, which also includes single clips that are not part of any series.
- All series pages. Each page lists the title, the premise, the cast, the number of episodes and which ones are locked, so you can draw up a shortlist before spending anything.
- A sample of the chat feature. According to the terms, a free user may send a handful of messages to AI characters, usually five. That is enough to get a feel for the companion side but not to make real use of it.
- The social teasers. Shortened clips from the platform and its affiliates circulate on YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels, and anyone can view them with or without an account.

Where to watch for free: the one real option
The only place is candy.ai itself, with the same steps on a phone or a computer.
- Go to Candy AI, either by typing its address yourself or from a saved bookmark. Once the age gate appears, confirm that you are over 18.
- Make a free account with your email, or pick one of the login choices on offer.
- Go to the Shorts section and select any series that is missing the Spicy flame. The flame is shown on the series page on Candy AI, or begin at the series catalogue.
- Watch episode one and then episode two. At episode three the padlock shows up, along with a choice between upgrading and paying in tokens.
- You can quit at any point. Should a locked episode not be worth the price to you, you are no worse off.
No other, secret place exists. Everything runs in a web browser. We found no listing for it in any app store, the platform’s own player streams the episodes, and no file is offered for download. So a “free online” copy on another site was never put there by the operator.
Why free stops where it does
Candy AI, the platform Candyshorts belongs to, sells paid plans. A free account is there for browsing and trying out series, while a plan opens up the rest; plenty of streaming services and apps work this way. For the same reason, no legitimate method gives you everything at zero cost. The fake sites follow from that: since the authentic service charges money, a page that offers it for nothing is making its income elsewhere, from your clicks, your personal data or your card.
What costs extra
From episode three onwards, Premium or tokens are required. The official subscription page, as read on 15 October 2026, offered three plan lengths. We list them in dollars, though the page itself uses whatever currency belongs to the country it detects. The shortest term costs $9.99 for its first month, then $13.99 monthly. Signing for three months brings it to $8.99 a month. Twelve months comes to $3.99 a month, with $47.88 charged for the year. Premium opens all of the locked episodes and adds chat, image features and 100 tokens every month.
The other way to pay is episode by episode, in tokens. Most series that use an original cast charged 12 tokens an episode, many creator series charged 30 and Spicy creator titles charged 50, according to the catalogue data of that date. To finish a five-episode series where the first two are free, you would spend 36, 90 or 150 tokens. Will the free access last?
No, it is not guaranteed to last, so bear that in mind before committing to a long series. An episode that is open now could be locked later, new releases may follow other rules, and promotions come to an end. On the day you watch, go through the list of episodes and the plan screen for any series you care about.
No free episodes in Spicy series
A small share of the catalogue carries the Spicy label on Candy AI: 14 of 159 series on 15 October 2026, which the platform regards as its most adult titles. The two-free-episodes rule stops there. Nothing is previewed before payment, and each episode, including the first, takes Premium or tokens. If you came for one particular title, look at its tags first. No legitimate source exists for a free Spicy story, however you search, so the options are Premium, tokens or skipping it.
Is there a free trial?
No, not for videos. We are not aware of any offer that gives a trial period on complete series. The free episodes work as the trial, and the reduced first month is about as near as it gets to an introductory price. There is also no official student rate and no free mirror. A page that advertises a “free trial” covering every episode does not represent the operator, because the platform decides what the genuine free tier includes and nobody can stretch it.
Dailymotion, Reddit and Telegram
People often search the brand name together with Dailymotion, which says more about how slowly takedowns happen than about what is on the site. Whatever turns up there falls into one of three groups. It may be a teaser copied from the official social posts, a channel that trades on the name to send you to a different site, or an upload made without permission, against the site’s rules, that is taken down when somebody reports it. People in the AI-companion communities compare series, complain about what tokens cost and debate whether Premium is a good deal, which is helpful reading before you spend money. Any post that promises a free archive of episodes leads to a Telegram invite or some unrelated link, and pirated links that get posted are taken down fast. Most of these trails end at Telegram channels that advertise free videos. Inside, you find either the same teasers, copies of the two free episodes uploaded again, or a hook that leads to a payment form.
Downloads, mod APKs, free Premium and generators
Anyone hunting for a free download, a mod APK or a free Premium account ends up on pages to treat as hostile. Candyshorts runs in the browser and has no episode files to get. We have not found any app-store app either, so a “modified client” cannot be real. Shared logins, lifetime passes, coupon generators and “free premium accounts” from third-party sellers fall in the same bucket. They are scams, or at the very least they violate the platform’s rules and put your details in a stranger’s hands. An account belongs to you alone, so when somebody else sells access to one, that offer is not official. Look for free episodes and you quickly land on copy-and-paste sites whose promises of everything end in something quite different:
- A player that never loads, or that just replays an advert.
- A survey or registration form that you have to complete before the video plays.
- Something to download and install before anything plays.
- A card form that claims to “verify your age”, often linked to a subscription you cannot see.

Our verdict
The free tier is fair, not miserly. You get a working account, a scrollable feed and two episodes at the start of most series, all without payment. That is enough to judge whether a plan is worth buying. Our one complaint: the sign-up process does not warn you that none of the Spicy titles has a free episode, even though those are the series people look for most. Everything else sold as free ends in one of two ways: a pirated copy that is soon taken down, or a scam that never goes away. And if a plan is not worth its price to you, it is entirely fair to stop once the free episodes are over.
