The story of Mum Got Sick on Our Holiday
The setup
A family holiday goes off-script when the mother falls ill and has to rest. Her husband, the step-dad in this story, is left in charge of her 23-year-old daughter, Harriet, for the days of the trip. The mother is one floor up, texting him to make sure her daughter has a good time.
Harriet has her own idea of what a good time means. The series follows the gap between the parent’s request and the daughter’s intentions, with the clock set by how long the mother needs to recover.
What to expect
Five short episodes with a holiday setting: a hotel, a pool and a family dynamic that feels slightly too close for comfort. The tension comes from the constant messages and the possibility that the mother could appear at any time.
The tone is light and flirtatious early on, and it grows more charged as the days pass.
A closer look
The story’s pressure comes from a phone. The mother is upstairs, unwell but alert, and every message she sends is a reminder that the family is only a floor away. That simple device keeps the story on edge from the first episode. It is a good series for anyone who likes holiday settings and a constant sense of being almost caught.
The cast
Candy AI credits Harriet Seagrave on this series. Every character on screen is AI-generated, like everyone else in Candyshorts. She plays Harriet.
Who it suits
Viewers who like holiday settings and stories where the danger comes from a message that could arrive at any moment.
