My Step-Sister’s Dormitory

The story of My Step-Sister’s Dormitory

The setup

A 20-year-old guy visits his older stepsister Riley for a weekend at her all-women’s college. He expects a quiet couple of days and a spare bed. What he gets is a campus tour from the inside: corridors, common rooms and a dorm full of people who are curious about the visitor.

Each room on the floor opens a new chapter, which gives the series an episodic structure. The visitor is out of place from the first scene, and the story uses that to keep him, and the viewer, slightly off balance.

What to expect

Five short episodes shaped like a walk down a hallway: one door, one new situation, one more reason to stay. The tone is playful and a little chaotic, closer to a campus comedy with a sharp edge than to a slow-burn drama.

Because the setting is a college dorm, the cast is bigger than in most Candyshorts series, and the story keeps cutting between small groups rather than staying with one couple.

A closer look

What makes the dorm setting work is how much of the story can happen in a corridor. A new door means a new character, a new rule and a new reason for the visitor to stay another hour. The weekend format keeps the stakes small and the pace brisk, and being the only outsider on a floor of regulars gives every episode its own built-in tension.

The cast

Her twin, the AI stand-in for Candy Creator Riley Reid, plays Riley. The other residents are AI-generated characters, like everyone else on screen in Candyshorts.
